I’m Daisy First Aid Trained!

by | Feb 21, 2023 | First Aid

When I work with families I am often asked about how to manage sleep around things such as:

  • illnesses
  • infections
  • common colds
  • signs of rashes

Sleep is often disrupted for these reasons and it can be an extremely unsettling time for everybody.

As a mum of 3 young girls myself I always find when one of them (or all of them!!) are unwell the entire household is on standstill.

Life comes to a halt!

I usually fight to get stuff done on the first day. By day 2, I surrender and we cosy up on the sofa (if we are lucky) and whack the TV on!

Part of my work is supporting parents with sleep when babies are unwell.

This could involve:

  • emotional support
  • signs and symptoms of what to look for
  • how best to manage your babies sleep when health is their main priority
  • how to get back on track once your baby has recovered

I am so excited to say I have now completed my First Aid Training with Daisy Aid which has equipped me even further to support families in times of injury and illness.

I also support young babies wean on to solids.

My 5-6 month old babies often start baby led weaning. I have heard lots of parents terrified of starting baby led weaning due to fear of choking.

My first aid training includes how to manage choking.

Thankfully I have never had to do this yet and we have to remember when weaning that gagging is COMPLETELY different to choking.

Some of the funky stuff I have been trained in…

  • Allergies/bites/burns/bruising
  • Choking
  • Meningitis
  • Ear and Eye Infections
  • Sprains and Strains

Do you feel like you could do with some bably sleep help?
