When I was a child I was fascinated by an unspoken language that I witnessed between two people. I always wondered why people are the way they are and what makes them behave in a certain way. As I grew older and began to face my own journey, I realised that this mysterious language came alive through expression. The world of emotions is brought to life through communication in the form of talking, crying, silence, raging, screaming, laughing or crying. I became even more curious to learn about myself and others and how we related to each other and to the world.

I have always had a gift of connecting with people on a deeper level and communication is my passion. This is why I decided to study counselling and psychotherapy so that I could use my natural curiosity about our wide range of emotions and my talent for communication to help people live up to their potential and more fulfilled lives. I have seen through experience that it can make all the difference when you know your counsellor cares enough to want to walk with you, side by side, through your experiences. Seeing my clients feel more empowered and happier is what inspires me as a counsellor.

Counselling can help with many problems including: feeling alone, feeling like your life is meaningless and aimlessness, feeling tired and overwhelmed, feeling like you can’t cope, dealing with grief and loss, working through a divorce or dealing with relationship issues. You could benefit from a counselling session, a confidential place where you can share your thoughts and feelings. Everybody struggles with something in their life at some point, otherwise we wouldn’t be human. We experience emotional difficulties, which can leave us feeling overwhelmed, scared or lost. This can affect the way in which we cope with life. It is often a relief to talk to an experienced professional who can listen in non judgemental and empathetic way.

I am a Qualified BACP Registered Therapist. I have been working with families for 17 years. My counselling method also includes using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, (CBT) Tension, Stress and Trauma Release Exercises, Motivational Interviewing and Life Coaching techniques. I work using an Intercultural approach, and always taking cultural and religious beliefs and values into consideration. I am able to provide counselling and psychotherapy in three different languages: English, Hindi and Punjabi, and am a registered BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) member.

I am a highly experienced counsellor specialising the Person Centred and Psychodynamic approach to therapy. I will work closely with you to understand exactly what psychological issues are bothering you and what is going on in your life. As a counsellor I am to support you in your process of growth and self-fulfillment. Identifying your specific needs is part of the counselling process and the space is yours to learn about yourself.

I understand the importance of trust, acceptance and the need for a safe environment to express all that you are so that you can get the most out of counselling. Therapy involves creating an open and warm space to connect, so that together we can explore the psychological issues that you have found painful, challenging or difficult. I also use Cognitive Behaviour Techniques, Life Coaching Skills, Trauma Release Work and Motivational Interviewing Techniques.

My counselling work is constituted by diversity and I work using an Intercultural approach. Recognising culture, beliefs and values is extremely valuable, for both the client and the therapist. Discovering the differences and similarities of numerous aspects of your culture and how you relate to the world can have an outstanding impact on the changes you experience at a deeper level. That is why we will discuss these cultural issues during your counselling sessions. Gender, race, age and sexuality I work with it all psychological identity issues. I have done a lot of counselling group work, taken part in and facilitated deep rooted body trauma release, active and dynamic meditation and holding a space for men and women in sacred circles of healing. I have a special interest in treating psychological issues related to race, culture and identity.
